Resolutions 2016: it’s all about new things

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This year is coming with some good changes for my blog: I have a new logo and banner that I will share with you guys pretty soon and I am utterly excited about it.  Jut like the past two years I am going to share my resolutions for this year 2016. I will still try to maintain past resolutions. I am also keeping my list short and filled with excitement. This year is all about new things and getting out of my comfort zone.

  1. Go to a place I have never been before.
  2. Finish my book.
  3. Try something new every month.
  4. Get my fiction writing certificate.
  5. Finish our promotional material for our music duo 12/20.

Do you guys have your resolutions yet?

Resolutions 2015: almost achieved

blog12345

My resolutions tend to be more of a to-do list than anything else. I try to always focus on being healthy, learning new things, live new experiences and most of all…be happy.

Last year I achieved 100% of my resolutions but this year I arrived to a 80%. But really, who cares? I added new things on the way and I am still pretty proud of everything I have accomplished.

Here is the recap of the year:

  • Finish the first draft of my book.

The first draft is done people! Now I need to correct and clean up everything. I am so excited to start organizing everything and who knows…maybe I’ll share with you guys some chapters.

  • Start dancing flamenco again.

This did not happen this year. I won’t get sad or frustrated, it simply did not happen. What did happen though was me starting to love Crossfit-training. Now that is something I feel really good about. Sorry Flamenco, maybe next year.

  • Decrease my diet soda intake.

Big round of applause for me! My soda intake decreased to a 90% this year. It was kind of hard at the beginning but after making it a habit it is now part of my life. Every time I order something to drink it is always water, just in special occasions I drink a Zero Coke because I really enjoy it.

  • Take a lovely vacation.

My lovely trip did happen this year when I went to Greece with Jimmy. We had three days of work and then free days! That was also the last time I saw my Grandma. She passed away two weeks ago and I still can’t believe it. This resolution definitely brought me joy and I will remember this trip forever.

  • Attend a concert.

This did not happen either. I was supposed to go to a couple of concerts but we backed down last-minute for different reasons. Oh, maybe next year…

  • Acquire a new skill.

My new skill acquired this year is that I got better at communicating and organizing our internal logistics. Let me explain: when we make videos there is a person who keeps everybody organized, on time and above all things happy. That person is…. (wait for it)….me. This year I got a little better at it.

  • Keep up my good work from last year.

I am exercising at least 5 times a week, when I’ve had a good week it could be 6 times. I am also trying to keep a healthy diet most of the time.

So this is the update from this year and soon I will be posting my resolutions for 2016.

Do you guys have your resolutions ready? 🙂

7 Resolutions for 2015

I have a delightful feeling that this year is going to be wonderful.

January always comes with a promise of something new and I am all in for that. I want to make this year count just as much I did with last year. I am proud of what I have accomplished and I am really excited for the new and exciting things to come.

Last year’s resolutions were achieved and this 2015 I am adding some more just for the fun of it. For me, resolutions are like small bucket lists (we know how much I love them).

So here my official 2015 resolutions:

1) Finish the first draft of my book.

Don’t laugh: I am writing my book since forever. This has been a long journey for me and as all we writers know, we always think our work it’s never actually finished. This year, at least I need my first draft ready.

2) Start dancing flamenco again.

When I was 12 I took flamenco for 5 years. I remember seeing this movie and wanting to be a flamenco dancer right away. I used to love dancing my sevillanas and fandangos. I am in Spain so…flamenco be ready…I am coming back!

3) Decrease my diet soda intake.

I am guilty: I really love diet soda. To my defense, I used to drink so much more diet soda before and now I have managed to decrease the daily amount. Oh yes, you heard me…daily amount. But this year I am decreasing it even more.

4) Take a lovely vacation.

The beach. Ah the feeling of going to the beach and having the warm sun on my face. This was the last time I was swimming in the ocean and it was almost two years ago! Planning to take a vacation in the sand, with tons of sunscreen on and a caffee frappe in hand.

5) Attend a concert.

I have to confess I don’t love going to concerts because I get an urgent feeling that I want to be on stage! (The little superstar diva in me is really rebellious). My first real concert was Britney Spears in Las Vegas.

6) Acquire a new skill.

Yes, I want to make this year fruitful. I want to learn new things and I would love to acquire a new skill!

7) Keep up my good work from last year.

I still want to manage to exercise at least 3 times a week, control my migraines and smile more!

🙂

Resolutions achieved! 2014 edition

blog

My very first post on this blog was about 2014 resolutions. I thought that it would be a pretty nice thing to accomplish what I had wished for this year and surprisingly I did.

In the past, my resolutions were kind of big and sometimes I would get frustrated that I couldn’t make all of them happen. This year they were simple and they added a very nice touch to my year.

70% of the year I ate like I was supposed to: trying to avoid dairy, gluten and the other items of my no-no list. I have my migraines under control and I am feeling pretty great. I used to have them every-single-day and now with my special diet I am having 2-3 migraines a month.

I really did something new every month; I finished my creative writing course, I took screenwriting, I moved to Madrid, I saw Britney’s Las Vegas concert and so much more.

I exceeded my expectations regarding my exercise routine; I never exercised less than 3 times a week. Sometimes I did more but never less. My body is thanking me for this achieved resolution.

My small vacation was incredible! I had so much fun in Las Vegas with Jimmy. We seriously had a blast and laughed so much. That also includes my last resolution that was to smile more. I smiled everyday!

🙂

Did you guys accomplished your resolutions this year?
