I know we are all going to age, eventually grow some grey hair and maybe hate it but lately I have been flirting with the idea of silver hair.
I really like the trend. But then again… I have read tons of articles regarding silver hair maintenance and I am backing down.
Remember my pink ends post? I think that is how far I could go for now…
Some lovely inspiration just in case I change my mind. 🙂
In a recent post I share my summer bucket list. I am happy that I’ve already done some of them and I pretend to do them again and again. One of the things that was on the list was to try blue makeup. In that post I also shared this easy tutorial. I gathered some beautiful photos so I can get a little inspired to see which one to try.
I would love this look for the day
This for a night out
There I was one day, walking on Halkithiki’s town streets after a long day at the beach, when I saw the most beautiful white kaftan dress I have ever seen. I kid you not when I say it was the most beautiful kaftan dress ever. The fabric was fantastic and when I asked the lady in the store how much it was, I was shocked it was only 30 euros. Since I had no cash I quickly went home to retrieve some money, just to arrive 15 minutes later missing the last kaftan sold to a very nice German lady.
I have tried to purchase something similar ever since but I can’t seem to find the perfect one. I hope next time I go to Greece I will find it…somewhere…I don’t care if I have to haunt down that German lady.
Today’s fashion inspiration is the lovely and airy kaftan dress.
This is similar to the dress I was talking about:
I have a little boho-girl who lives inside me. She rarely comes out, but when she does, it’s all about relaxed dresses and numerous rings.
I have been looking for the perfect boho hat lately and I am still on that mission. So for today’s fashion inspiration I found some gorgeous pictures of what I call “the boho hat”.
1) Here you can find numerous styles of this hat.
2) The Urban Outfitters one.
3) Summery feeling.
When I first saw this kind of shoe, I didn’t like it at all. I thought: it was either a wedge or a sneaker. But after I saw this gorgeous spanish blogger’s pick, I fell in love with the trend.
There I was one day on a shopping trip looking at the Isabel Marant’s sneaker prices and had second thoughts about it. So I gave up on them temporarily. Walking by I saw the Zara window and there they were waiting for me: electric blue sneaker wedges. Fantastic price and the last pair was my size. To make a long story short, I love my little acquisition.
Here they are:
I have had a love-hate relationship with our current apartment for a while now. The problem has always been that when we moved here, this was going to be a “temporary” situation. I can’t emphasize enough all the problems this apartment has. We bought the apartment in a rush and that is why the guy who sold us the place was so happy. Not only he had the most hideous taste in furniture, colors and wood, but he also left the apartment with a water problem and an electricity problem. (Thank you dear, I hope karma comes back to you soon.)
So enough with the negative things, we are planning on moving soon. Yey! I can’t tell you where or when, because I want to make it a surprise, but changes are coming our way!
Remember this post about my office? Well I don’t plan on changing it again because we are moving out… but I do want to share some inspirations for my future office or workspace.
My mom loves stripes when it comes to clothing. At first, I did not like them because they looked weird on me. Then as I got older, I found out that not every type of stripe is for every type of body. So I was using them wrong. Wide stripes do not look good on me so now I choose thinner ones. For this week’s inspiration (thanks mom) I chose navy stripes.
Let’s just pretend we have some white shorts, a navy striped shirt, bare-feet and some sunglasses walking in the beach… Sounds lovely to me.
Nothing reminds me of summer like neon colors do.I love them.
I started using neon nail polish and I really like how colorful my hands look. I also like how a bright pink or a fluorescent yellow can brighten any black outfit!
Bright accesories, colorful shoes and statement dresses can all stand out with a punch of neon.
Where I live, we have approximately ten months of sunny days and only two partially chillier months. No drastic wardrobe changes from season to season. But the weather does get a little hotter in June so I usually leave the cardigans and jackets at home before I go out. (I am always cold though).
I like to celebrate Summer by wearing more neon colors, long maxi dresses and colorful pieces. I gathered some pictures for my Summer inspiration.
When I was a little girl I used to have this bright yellow dress that I always wore. It made me feel shiny and happy. Every time I wear yellow I get in a good mood and sometimes without even thinking about it I wear it to cheer me up.
My inspiration for this week is yellow pieces that can be worn with black and white or even be bold and mix it up with a turquoise or dark grey for a chic contrast.
You know those girls who look effortlessly chic? They throw anything on and they instantly look gorgeous? Well, I am not one of them. I try to plan my outfits the night before so in the morning I don’t look like a crazy person. But there is something very appealing when you keep your outfit relaxed. So when I saw this picture I thought to myself what a great inspiration it is and I am planning on doing my own version of this outfit.
Meanwhile I will share the alternative version of Olivia Palermo’s outfit for this week’s Fashion Wednesdays.
1) White blazer that goes practically with anything.
2) This basic piece is hidden in every wardrobe.
3) Boyfriend jeans.
4) Neutral flats.
5) With this outfit, I believe any handbag would pair nicely, but my pick would be this one.
6) Cat eye sunglasses.
Since I came back from my vacation, I am feeling artsy. Yes, that happens to me sometimes. As I got home, I cleaned, organized everything inside and did a lot of laundry. Then I looked around and got into that let’s-give-a-little-makeover-to-the-house mood. So I gathered five DIY tutorials that I will try soon.
-The first one I am going to try is this tutorial from Harpers Happenings. I have a frame that I bought two years ago and it has been moved from place to place with no specific purpose. This is a lovely idea.
-I will spray paint an old rock I have in the balcony and I am going to use it as a book holder like Bri from “Design Love Fest” did in her office makeover.
-There is something about gold spray paint that makes any object feel pretty. It’s shiny and glamorous. Hey! That is why I used it in my blog’s name. Smart girl right? 🙂 I used it in this tutorial too. The picture above is from the Style Me Pretty blog.
– My balcony needs this. I can’t wait to try it! Found this tutorial at www.bloomize.com.
– I would love to try this in the hallway. Let’s see Jimmy agrees to it! Picture and tutorial from http://www.laurenconrad.com.
I would love to know if you guys have any ideas too add to my inspiration board? Let me know!
