2015: I am waiting for you with open arms

Foto 27-12-14 2 56 25 p.m.

I normally wait for the new year with a bubbly enthusiasm because it means a fresh start and time for changes. But this year it has been different. I feel like I have accomplished so much this 2014 that I will feel a little nostalgic about it ending. When I started this blog almost a year ago, I had no idea I would take it so seriously and that it would mean so much to me. It started like a small escape from reality, like a vessel to another dimension and it became my little personal space to share and post and connect with you guys.

You have seen all of my 2014 and all the beautiful changes that came with it. I feel like I have been accompanied through the whole year even though I can’t see you. Thank you so much for all your support. Thank you for your kind comments and your suggestions. Thank you for making me smile and for letting me know that there is someone (other than my lovely sister) who reads my blog.

I can’t wait to continue sharing and knowing you guys a little better.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

May this 2015 bring joy to your life. May it bring happiness and tons of smiles. I wish that I could meet each and every one of you and let you know how thankful I am that you take the time to read what I post. I hope with all my heart this new year will brighten every day and make you realize how special each and every one of you is.

Happy 2015! ❤

7 Resolutions for 2015

I have a delightful feeling that this year is going to be wonderful.

January always comes with a promise of something new and I am all in for that. I want to make this year count just as much I did with last year. I am proud of what I have accomplished and I am really excited for the new and exciting things to come.

Last year’s resolutions were achieved and this 2015 I am adding some more just for the fun of it. For me, resolutions are like small bucket lists (we know how much I love them).

So here my official 2015 resolutions:

1) Finish the first draft of my book.

Don’t laugh: I am writing my book since forever. This has been a long journey for me and as all we writers know, we always think our work it’s never actually finished. This year, at least I need my first draft ready.

2) Start dancing flamenco again.

When I was 12 I took flamenco for 5 years. I remember seeing this movie and wanting to be a flamenco dancer right away. I used to love dancing my sevillanas and fandangos. I am in Spain so…flamenco be ready…I am coming back!

3) Decrease my diet soda intake.

I am guilty: I really love diet soda. To my defense, I used to drink so much more diet soda before and now I have managed to decrease the daily amount. Oh yes, you heard me…daily amount. But this year I am decreasing it even more.

4) Take a lovely vacation.

The beach. Ah the feeling of going to the beach and having the warm sun on my face. This was the last time I was swimming in the ocean and it was almost two years ago! Planning to take a vacation in the sand, with tons of sunscreen on and a caffee frappe in hand.

5) Attend a concert.

I have to confess I don’t love going to concerts because I get an urgent feeling that I want to be on stage! (The little superstar diva in me is really rebellious). My first real concert was Britney Spears in Las Vegas.

6) Acquire a new skill.

Yes, I want to make this year fruitful. I want to learn new things and I would love to acquire a new skill!

7) Keep up my good work from last year.

I still want to manage to exercise at least 3 times a week, control my migraines and smile more!

🙂

Have you made your list yet?

Resolutions achieved! 2014 edition

blog

My very first post on this blog was about 2014 resolutions. I thought that it would be a pretty nice thing to accomplish what I had wished for this year and surprisingly I did.

In the past, my resolutions were kind of big and sometimes I would get frustrated that I couldn’t make all of them happen. This year they were simple and they added a very nice touch to my year.

70% of the year I ate like I was supposed to: trying to avoid dairy, gluten and the other items of my no-no list. I have my migraines under control and I am feeling pretty great. I used to have them every-single-day and now with my special diet I am having 2-3 migraines a month.

I really did something new every month; I finished my creative writing course, I took screenwriting, I moved to Madrid, I saw Britney’s Las Vegas concert and so much more.

I exceeded my expectations regarding my exercise routine; I never exercised less than 3 times a week. Sometimes I did more but never less. My body is thanking me for this achieved resolution.

My small vacation was incredible! I had so much fun in Las Vegas with Jimmy. We seriously had a blast and laughed so much. That also includes my last resolution that was to smile more. I smiled everyday!

🙂

Did you guys accomplished your resolutions this year?

Buon Natale!

This is my first Christmas in Madrid and I am feeling really excited and nostalgic at the same time. I miss my little sister and spending quality time with my parents. The warmth of Nina resting on my lap while I sit petting her.

I want to wish you all a fabulous Christmas.

May you all spend this day with your loved ones and have fun.

Smile, laugh and eat all the things you like.

Holiday feeling

6A

Our tree is tiny just like our home. It’s kind of funny how small it is. (If Nina was here it would be the perfect tree for her). It was really easy decorating this tree, not to mention very fast too. This year I wanted to add some white to the tree and my little snowmen look absolutely cute.

I have to tell you I wasn’t sure if I was going to be in the festive mood for Christmas…but who am I kidding…I am always in that mood.

Here a little tour to our Christmas impromptu decor.

Cinnamon Paleo Cookies

5

I know it’s been long since my last recipe post, but going from a very-comfortable-big-lovely kitchen to a mini-countertop-micro kitchen is no walk in the park. I am starting to feel the Christmas vibes all around me and I thought it would be a lovely idea to bake some cookies.

I am a huge fan of cinnamon and this cookies will definitely kick my sweet holiday craving this month. I searched for some base recipes for the Paleo cinnamon cookies but found myself adding and replacing some ingredients from the original recipe. That’s just me…you guys can go ahead and follow the original one.

I added two tablespoons of grated orange zest and doubled the cinnamon. I also substituted the maple sugar and the molasses with stevia unrefined powder (I found this amazing ingredient in the herbal shop). They came out pretty yummy.

December: 6 lovely things just before the year ends

How did December arrive so fast?

It seems like yesterday that I was a caged little bird living in Caracas and now here I am spending Christmas in Madrid. Time flew so fast. I am trying to embrace every little detail and breathing everything in. My life has changed so much that I quite can’t figure out how did I adapt so smoothly to this new chapter of my life.

This month has been a lot of work and I am happy that I am keeping busy. Jimmy and I have been producing and directing other artist’s music videos and I have to say I am enjoying myself a little too much. I have been running in the cold lately and I have found out that this way I run faster. Now I am also an official «Fannibal» after having a «Hannibal» TV series marathon (you got to love Lecter don’t you?).

So here six other things before the year ends:

Our little tree cheering up my cold mornings

1

My glorious Britney-moment when I got to meet the cast of Nito’s music video

6

Finally gifting myself some exotic eyeshadow and the amazing Beauty Blender (where has this been all my life?)

3

Surprise on my coffee: no, that is not how you write my name, but who gives a damn when you have a lovely little flower next to it?

5

I am not supposed to eat chocolate due to migraines…but this happened.

2

Changing our bedroom colors. My mom sent me these and they still smell like her.

4

«Higher» single release

«I feel the fire…when we collide…don’t ever let me go, we’re here to start the show…you take me higher…»

Oh you have no idea how I was anxiously waiting  for the release of this song. We recorded this just before moving to Madrid and I remember all the chaos around it. I am so happy it is ready now and I can share it with you guys. I love this song because it really takes me «higher», it also reminds me of good changes and to take risks more often.

Jimmy’s beats are awesome, I love how he gets into my mind and reads exactly what I like in a song. Carlos Navarrete (NVR), our dear friend, helped us with the music and I have to say we did have a lot of fun between takes and studio sessions (specially my awesome cooking afterwards).

I can’t wait to show you the music video and share with you some more fun stuff.

Let me know if you guys like it!

Enjoy!
